German Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of our good family friends, The Mikurak’s, were nice enough to lend me this recipe. I am so happy I got to make these cookies because they are delicious! I do not even like coconut but after trying these cookies, this recipe changed my mind. They are not hard at all to make and great to have as a snack or bring to a friend’s house for a football game coming up like the Superbowl. Here is what you’ll need:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Ghirardelli cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. sea salt
1 cup unsalted organic butter (softened)
1/2 cup organic granulated sugar
1 cup packed organic light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 organic brown eggs
2 cups Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups sweetened coconut flakeCream together the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir dry ingredients into the butter/sugar mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips and coconut last.

Put batter into the fridge for 30 minutes. 
 
Put a small tin filled with about 2 cups of water on the bottom of the oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 
Make Full teaspoon sized drops of batter and place unevenly on a baking sheet. Put in the oven and reduce to 350 degrees. Bake for 8-10mins. Take out and let rest for 1-2 mins then transfer to a wire rack or silicon baking pad.
