You're As Sweet As Pie

Serendipity’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Pizza

Everyone has heard of this wonderful restaurant and knows that there is at least a 3 hour wait if you want to get in and try their amazing food. This great establishment I am talking about is Serendipity 3 located in New York City. I was fortunate enough to have eaten there and boy was it great! I would highly recommend dining here and ordering basically anything off their menu.

My favorite would have to be their frozen hot chocolate! It’s a great treat for chocolate lovers. I did not get to try their cookie pie while I was there but I do have their cookbook and decided to make it myself. I know it’s not the same as having it made from one of their chefs but it was still pretty darn good! The batter was quite savory too.

  • 2 1/2 Cups of Flour
  • 1 TSP of Baking Soda
  • 1 TSP of Salt
  • 2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter, Softened, Extra for the pan
  • 3/4 Cups of Sugar
  • 3/4 Cups of Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Bag of Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup of Chopped Nuts

Preheat the oven to 375. Sift the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. With a mixer, cream the butter and sugars. Beat the eggs and vanilla, then gradually add the flour mixture and stir until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts. I skipped the nuts since I do not like nuts but feel free to add whatever you like!

IMG_0002 IMG_0025 IMG_0026 IMG_0005 IMG_0029Spread half of batter in a buttered 12 inch deep dish pizza pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Once cool, remove pizza from pan and set aside. Then re-butter pan and add remaining batter to bake. Let it cool and then it is ready to serve!
