You're As Sweet As Pie

Cinnamon Pecan Apple Pie

Happy Memorial Day! I know I am a bit early but with everyone traveling, had to say it now! I decided to make a pie since those are quite American and delicious. I love apples and pecans so I thought why not combine the two?!

The pie does take awhile to bake but pretty easy to make. The ingredients should be readily accessible in your kitchen.

  • 1 TSP of Cinnamon
  • 1 Granny Smith Apple
  • 1 Red Apple
  • Bag of Pecan Halves
  • 1 TBSP of Butter
  • 1/4 Cups of Flour
  • 3/4 Cups of Sugar
  • Salt to Taste

Preheat the oven to 425.

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, pecans, salt and cinnamon. Make sure the apples are peeled and cubed before adding to the mixture. Then combine all of the ingredients in the batter.

Once this is complete, add the mixture to the pie shell. Slice a few pieces of the butter and place on top of the pie mix. It will melt into the mixture. Place in the oven for around 35 minutes. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes and serve with ice cream. Enjoy!
