You're As Sweet As Pie

Miss Kay’s Homemade Mac n Cheese

Hi y’all, hope you are having a great evening! I wanted to share a delicious recipe I made from Miss Kay’s cookbook (yes from Duck Dynasty). I loveeee that show and think they are the most genuine and down to earth family to watch. Miss Kay is a hoot and I adore watching her cook and how she shows us her recipes on DD. When I found out that she had a cookbook coming out, I was ecstatic!

This recipe is super easy and pretty delicious to have for dinner. I am not a huge cook but this was an easy recipe to follow. She even mentions Korie making it and we all know her cooking skills!

Ingredients:

1 package (1 pound) large elbow macaroni

1 stick plus 1 tablespoons of butter

Salt and black pepper

9 tablespoons of all purpose flour

3 cups of milk

2 cups of shredded cheese

Directions:

Heat the oven to 350. Cook the macaroni according to the package directions.

While the macaroni is boiling, melt the butter in the saucepan on medium heat. Add salt and pepper and the flour, stirring continuously. When combined, stir in the milk slowly until it thickens then turn off stove top.

Drain the macaroni and pour into the casserole dish. Cover with sauce. Add 1 1/2 cups of the cheese and mix together. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

Bake until the cheese melted and the macaroni is hot.

I added red pepper flakes to my bowl since I like a kick of spice in just about anything I eat!
