Get to Know Gentry Adams of Girl Meets Bow

Good morning my loves! Hope you all had a great weekend. I ended up traveling to Tallahassee for FSU’s Homecoming weekend with my sister so we had a great time. Plus FSU won against NC State so it really couldn’t get any better than that 😉

Today for my blogger interview series, I got to chat with Gentry from Girl Meets Bow. We both live in the Tampa Bay area, have blogs we run besides our daytime jobs and we are both in the Junior League! Hope you enjoy the article and her website, Girl Meets Bow.

PS- If you’d like to be featured or have a blogger you want to know more about let me know! (You can email me at sweetnsouthernlifestyle@gmail.com or leave a comment below) —Love the idea of doing this Gentry!

If your brand was a bar or restaurant what would it be?

Definitely a Mexican restaurant! My blog is all about loud patterns, bright colors and festivities! (Plus we believe strongly in good margaritas) 😉

What drink would your brand order?

Champagne! Girl Meets Bow is all about celebrating the big and small in everyday, and there is nothing better for celebrating than a glass full of bubbles!

What would your brand be wearing?

I think Lauren and I have the same answer here- Lilly Pulitzer! No one does prints and color better than Lilly herself, and I live by the motto, “Life’s a party, dress like it!”

Would your brand be sitting alone or the life of the party?

Most definitely the life of the party! When you wear this many bright colors and prints, you definitely can’t hide in the background ☺

What would your brand want to talk about?

The latest celebrity scoop, styling tips and tricks, and the best deals around! You’ll also hear us saying a healthy amount of “y’all” because sticking to our southern roots is the heart of who we are.

What music would be playing?

Country and pop- because I love my Eric Church and Top 20 hits with the same amount of fervor.

When did you learn that you wanted to become a blogger?

I had several friends suggest it to me, but since I wanted to focus on fashion I needed to have a photographer (and those are not easy to find when you’re starting out!).  When my aunt volunteered to take my pictures for me, the blog was born! She’s amazing to work with- and obviously we have a great relationship! Girl Meets Bow has now become such a wonderful creative outlet for me and I’m so thankful that my family and friends encouraged me to get started (and keep me motivated along the way!)

What is your motivation for working for yourself?

I actually have a nine to five as an Associate Jewelry Buyer for the Home Shopping Network, so Girl Meets Bow is truly a fun hobby for me! Although I know lots of bloggers have made it their full time job, for me I enjoy it being a stress-free hobby. I post when I am inspired, and if “real life” gets busy I can take a few days off. I hope it continues to grow and flourish, but I don’t see myself giving up my career any time soon- I’ve worked too hard and am so passionate about it!

How has social media impacted your life by telling your story online?

Social Media has introduced me to so many amazing people and brands – it’s amazing how our world has become so connected! I love being able to share the big and small with my friends and readers, it helps them learn more about the girl behind the blog.

If you had to pick a favorite aspect of blogging, what would it be?

Connecting with my readers! Seriously, they are some of the most fun and kind people around and I love getting to share a few minutes of their day with them through the blog.

What advice do you have for others who would like to divulge into the social media business?

Know who you are and stay true to it. It can be easy to get caught up in the comparison game and trying to keep up with everyone else, but if you stay true to who you are and share it authentically, you will succeed ☺
