Hi hi. I am currently writing this as I am on a flight to Wisconsin for one of my dear friend’s weddings which is exciting!! I’ve never been to Wisconsin so I can’t wait to explore and see what the city and state has to offer. I mean I like the packers so it can’t be that bad if they have Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb right 😉
Alright, so you’re probably wondering what this title is about and I am going to tell you now. I recently finished Melissa Ambrosini’s book about channeling your inner mean girl. She discusses how to stay true to yourself, not listen to the negative thoughts you have on a daily basis and to live an uplifting life. I always try to work on this on a regular basis but sometimes it can be hard. She gives lots of pointers on how to go through it all regularly.
Melissa talks about her life, challenges with an eating disorder, putting her body and health at an all time high including stress, relationships and diet and of course those not so great thoughts you put on yourselves. All of these things can take a toll on yourself if you really let it get to you.
In her book, Melissa challenges you to write a gratitude list daily, think positively and not think so negatively of yourself and believe that you can do anything you put your mind to. There’s nothing you can’t do! When you think you can’t do something all the time then it won’t happen. So you gotta turn that around by doing little things each and every day.
Another thing I learned was how surrounding yourself with the right people really has an effect on you as well. I always knew about this but never realized how much it can actually do to you. So I know now how it can do something if you surround yourself with people who won’t uplift you and just bring you down then yea obviously it’s going to drag you too.
You want to be around people who are happy for when you get a promotion, do something you love and get into a new exciting relationship. Some of this seems easy to do but when you’ve been friends with someone for such a long time, it can be hard to break away. Or even forgiving those in the past who have hurt you to let go of that negative energy.
I’ve actually forgave people in the past or made up over stupid arguments in college and now we’re good friends again. It’s a nice feeling to have and I suggest y’all try it out. These are just a few ideas to get started. I don’t want to give away too much from the book so you’ll have to go out and get it yourself.
But I hope this helps you to get started and have a better and positive life to live! I follow Melissa through her newsletters and Instagram. Her posts are pretty awesome and she also has a podcast. If you know me then you know I love podcasts and listening to shows on the reg. It’s nice to break away from the radio and music that’s on repeat to get actual information. Anyways, I will leave it on that note. Have a great week and let me know if you get Melissa’s book!!! Xx
